  Hmm, actually on moving to 7 that IS using much more memory - now more than Firefox or IE.. Not an issue for me (and it still loads much quicker than Firefox) but developers seem to assume that everyone's got loads of memory to spare! Opera 10.63 on the other hand is a real miser, but whether it's any good...

  @zconomy: that's odd - on my machine Chrome 6 uses a lot LESS memory than either IE 8 or Firefox 3. What browser are you using?
