This is a group for active genre nazis. We hate mistagging, wrong genres, wrong description of genres and so on. Welcome if you're one of us!

Are you tired of people tagging bands with genres that doesn't exist ?

Are you frustrated over mistagging and people who know nothing about the genre?

Do you love correcting other people when they are wrong about a genre or when they mistag?

Do you feel like you're exploding when people are wrong about a genre and claim branwashedly that they are right?

Then you're a genre-nazi, and you are welcome to join!

Examples of mistagging:

Children of Bodom - Melodic Death Metal (they are a fusion of many genres, and melodeath is just a SMALL part)

Judas Priest - NWOBHM, Classic Rock (they were not part of the NWOBHM and Classic rock is not a genre, it's a term to describe 50's and 60's rock!!)

Wintersun - Melodic Death Metal (Wintersun is a fusion between folk, speed metal, melodic metal, neo-classical and extreme metal, but they are not melodeath)

Twisted Sister - Hair Metal (Twisted was a classic metal band with shock rock image. They tried to look as ugly as possible, and that separates them to glam)

Some facts:

Grunge is not heavy metal. It's alternative rock crossed with hardcore punk.

Metalcore, deathcore, grindcore, whatever-core is not metal. Those genres takes influence from metal, but they all go under the umbrella term "Hardcore punk".

Slipknot is NOT, and I mean NOT BY ANY MEANS death metal. It's nu-metal with metacore and hardcore elements.

BFMV is not thrash metal. It's screamo/emo-metalcore.

last fm is for people, everyone tag whatever they want to. "people tagging bands with genres that doesn't exist" but it's not about genres that exist, lastfm is about tags and it can be anything... A song can reminds one man about roses so he tag it as "roses", lol. What's wrong? Keep lastfm tags dirty! One exception is when people tag their hate, tag anything as "shit" and similar poor insults. Primitivism of insulting should be banned.

Lol, idiot. Yes it is primaly a vocal technique. The genre who's called "screamo" is just a derative form of hardcore.

Screamo is a vocal technique, smartass. And yes, BFMV is pretty much rooted in emocore music. And to call them melodic death metal is blasphemy. To call them metal is pretty much false. Go learn the definition of genres and non-genres, kiddo.

Of course, it's not thrash metal (anyway, musically they have some influence of it), but it is NOT screamo (go learn the definition of screamo, kids), emo - only as a huge MTV mistagging (it is the topic of the other, bigger discussion), and yes, metalcore, but be enough correct to say "melodic metalcore" - because this music have a very small piece to do with metallic hardcore, and real metalcore, it is maybe more close to melodic death metal with breakdowns, haha))

Epica and Nightwish are Symphonic Metal! I really hate it when people think they are goth! Aaaargh! Metalcore is not that different from emo/screamo. BFMV has elements from boths!

Pantera was Groove Metal, which deratives from post-thrash. But Pantera was not a thrash metal band!
