    problem

    I use Fire.fm 1.1.3 and Last.fm Client 1.5.1
Recomendations and neighbors radio works fine on my Fire.fm
But when I try to tune into some artist or tag station on Fire.fm, my Last.fm client starts it. I tried to disable "lastfm:" links in properties, and now it asks me to choose the application to use for this kind of links: Last.fm client or other, but Fire.fm still do not work with them. I tried to write "firefm:" link in address line - the same thing.

I found solution: Go to Home>Settings>Website. Check "Play music in-page" instead of "Play music in the Last.fm software".

    • Make sure you enabled scrobbling in Fire.fm settings.
    • You should allow Firefox to remember your last.fm password. When you're logging in to Last.fm Firefox will ask you "Do you want Firefox to remember this password?", click "Remember". Read about it in FAQ: http://firefm.sourceforge.net/help/#password
    • Clear your cookies and login again, make sure you allowed Firefox to remember password.

    No problem. ;-)

"Po trzech dniach bez programowania, życie staje się pozbawione sensu."
  • I've done all the above and still no scrobbling. The funny thing is loved tracks show up. If I logout from the site it affects Fire.Fm. The error is specially for scrobbling tracks only.

Try on new, clean Firefox profile - open the Windows "Start" menu, select "Run" then type and enter one of the following:
    • firefox.exe -profilemanager
    • firefox.exe -p
Profile Manager will be displayed, create new profile and run it. Log in into Last.fm and allow Firefox to remember your password. Try to scrobble music again.

  • okay i think i've figured out playing the music in the fire.fm toolbar, and that's scrobbling fine, but since then when i play music on mediamonkey it's not updating, although it's showing up on my last.fm software. ?

I just installed this extension yesterday (why didn't I know about this sooner???)
But I'm having the same problem as many. No scrobbling. I'm logged in, and I have scrobbling enabled in the Fire.fm settings.

Is there anything simple to make this work? I'm on a work computer so I can not run Commands (RUN or CMD)

"Who said that funk was done just by one?
Who said that it was never ever done?
Who said the two of us couldn't groove?
It wasn't me but maybe it was you."

  • I'm having the same scrobbling problem, and have taken care to log in and have Firefox remember my password, FWIW. But sweeping all cookies and creating a new profile are too much trouble: my feeling is that if Fire.fm can't scrobble, that's its problem, not mine. I'm used to Last.fm stats being inaccurate. I just enjoy the music.

    "Ban this Track" not working

All other buttons and scrobbling is working correctly in the Fire.fm Toolbar plug-in. "Ban this Track" is the only thing that is not reporting back to Last.fm and removing the track from active library.

UPDATE: "Love This Track" and "Ban This Track" in the Firefox Fire.fm Toolbar plug-in are not working at this time. I am currently running FireFox 3.0.13 and Fire.fm version 1.2.4

UPDATE: I upgraded to Firefox 3.5.2. I have also discovered that the "Love This Track" and "Ban This Track" in the Firefox Fire.fm Toolbar plug-in are in fact working and reporting. However, the banned tracks are still loading and playing. Not fully sure if this is Fire.fm issue or a Last.fm issue.

UPDATE Since the last update by Fire.fm (3.5.2), Last.fm (1.2.5), and Flash, I have been able to test this error again. Using the Last.fm Radio via their website, it still plays tracks that have been tagged as banned. This would imply the error is coming from Last.fm and not Fire.Fm.

  • Flash 10 running slowly message

    Hi Sin,
First, let me say that this is a really excellent plugin, great work!!!

I have a question... ever since I upgraded to Flash Player 10, I get a pop-up now and then while using fire.fm. It says something like "an application is making Flash Player 10 run slowly, do you want to abort?" I click "no", and things still seem OK, but I wonder if something bad is happening. What are your thoughts about that?

I am using FF3.5.2 on WinXP. Thanks!!!!! Dave

Update: My fire.fm just updated itself today, so maybe that will help. btw, I found this article about that issue in case it's helpful: Flash file running slowly

still "an application is making flash Player 10 run slowly"

Upgraded to the latest fire.fm release, but after one song this message pops up; if I click 'yes' or 'no' songs wouldn't load anyway.
    Any solution?

  • FireFm disabled

when I quit firefox without pressing the stop button on firefm the next time I start firefox the play button for firefm is disabled. Logging in to last.fm doesnot affect it. What does work is: enabling/disabling an add on and using the restart firefox button. The simple solution is don't do that! But alas I forget and do it. Not really a big deal, i love the add on.

I'm having the exact problem as the guy above me. I try to log into my account and I get 'Unable to complete authorization process. Please try again.' I can log into the radio station just fine in my browser (I'm listening to it right now!)

  • Help!

I cannot hear the radio, the player fire.fm hasn't loaded.

RE: Fire.fm add-on / Player not loaded - however under XP only !

Since the last "Flash-Player-Update" i get this info, that the player has not been loaded.
    Before it worked fine.
However; this behaviour is only under the PC with XP installed. Under the PC with a Windows 7 installation it still works fine.

    Stop Button Disabled

    Windows 7 / FireFox 4 / Fire.fm 1.4.14

When playing a station, the stop button cannot be clicked. Other features that seem to be disabled appear to be the login / logout button, and everything under the "station" button except for "start station"

It took me a long time, to get fire.fm working on my mozilla Firefox. Listening to radio station was possible, but it just didnt scrooble the tracks to my account. At least it is working now, though i still dont know what the matter was... Here are the things i tried to make it work:

    • make sure, that you Timezone in the windows task-bar is set correctly
    • delete you firefox-cookies
    • make sure, you're using only one media player to scrobble tracks (in this cade fire.fm)
    • deactivate the addon, restart firefox and activate fire.fm again
    • reboot your windows PC ;-)

one of these aspects must have been the reason to make fire.fm working proper on my pc....
