Trying to give credit where it's due.
If you play video games, then you've probably know what Super Smash Bros. Brawl is. Regardless of whether you like the game or not, it is an indisputable fact that it features the most epic soundtrack of any video game ever made due to the sheer number of track and incredibly diverse selection of artists.
How many other games can brag that they have music from Kojo Kondo, Yasunori Mitsuda, Masafumi Takada and Harry Gregson-Williams?
None, which is exactly the problem. Keeping track of all the individual artists in an equally epic task made difficult by the fact Nintendo hasn't released an official soundtrack yet, so the only way to find out all the artist information is to look at the sound test, which is further hampered by the fact a good portion of said sound test is locked off to the play initially.
So it's disappointing that, but completely understandable, that the first rips of the soundtrack left off all of the artist information or just put in Nintendo and called it a day. After all, somebody would do it eventually, right?
Well actually, someone did. Apparently the webmaster of the Videogame Scrapbook went and added the correct tags to 300+ musical tracks in the game. So now the is a copy of the soundtrack you can get that properly attributes every composer who left their mark on the game.
Only one problem. Remember all those version people listened to with bad tags? Well now they are considered the default by Last FM, so the auto-correction will change the actual artist name to something generic like "Nintendo." This cannot stand, because it completely defeats the point of getting the correct tags.
So to that end, the purpose of this group is to fix it so the properly attributed songs are the default ones. So whenever you listen to a Brawl song with the correct tags, check your profile page. If see that the song is something it's not, then click the green asterisk (*) and then flag link at the top of the page to indicate that it is the real song (technically you should do that with any song that the auto-correct gets wrong).
Don't have a copy of the Brawl soundtrack with correct tags? Then go get a copy from Videogame Scrapbook. I won't post a direct link since the admins might frown up it, but a quick web search should find it for you.
Also, it has occurred to me that the most bass ackwards way to fix the problem, but I don't know it.
