  • Kerrang! Video Premiere - The Kut

    15 mai 2015, 0h46m par criminalrecords

Kerrang! Magazine premiere the brand new music video by The Kut today (Friday 15th May)!  The track, I Don't Need Therapy is taken from the recent 'Rock Paper Scissors EP' and was directed by Mike Gripz. Watch it from 4pm at http://kerrang.com

    Classic Rock Magazine
    Tracks of the Week
"Bad Man marks the precise point in the Venn diagram where L7 meets I Wanna Be Your Dog meets Courtney Love, which is equal parts terrifying and a cause for long and rowdy celebration. Punk's not dead, pass it on."

    Kerrang! Magazine
"Despite the loud Courtney love references they're more than just Hole II. Mario has an Against Me! Strut to the intro, while DMA is a pounding gem"

    Q Magazine
Top 5 Tracks To Listen to This Week
"There's a slice of angst-offloading gutter rock that's a kissing cousin of Hole, but The Kut's scuzz-covered family tree also stretches further back to the garage rampages of The Stooges."

Inspired by bands like Deftones, L7, Hole, Incubus, Tool, Placebo, Nirvana, Faith No More and others, The Kut are a rock trio born from the alternative scene. Having been voted into in the winning spots for MTV UK Brand New Unsigned 2014 Poll, their ‘Make Up’ EP was produced by James LeRock Loughrey (Skindred / White Zombie / My Vitriol / Page & Plant / Def Leppard), featuring 3 brand new tracks plus 2 previous releases ‘DMA’ and ‘Closure’. The 2014 record saw immense support from Scuzz TV, BBC Introducing, Kerrang! Planet Rock, Kerrang! Radio, AXS, MTV-U, Putpat TV, Vevo and 16 cable channels across the USA.

Their forthcoming 'Rock Paper Scissors' EP is a quicker than expected follow up to the 'Make Up' EP, and includes horror pop halloween single 'I Want You Maniac'. Alekhine's Gun is second single from the 'Rock Paper Scissors' EP, out 13th April. The Kut release their latest single 'I Don't Need Therapy' on Monday 6th April, which "is about rejecting the ill advice that people try to ram down your throat in the guise of helping you out." The track mixes riot grrrl grunge with contageous riffage and is soon to be accompanied by forthcoming video, produced by Mike Gripz (Boy Better Know / Frisco).

The debut single from the EP 'I Want You Maniac' was added to the playlists of MTV-U and AXS TV. These US channels joined major UK support from Scuzz TV, Planet Rock, BBC Introducing and Jim Gellatly's New Music Showcase among others. The EP has also been played out in the clubs including Club NME and Medication.

The EP was again produced by James LeRock Loughrey (Skindred / White Zombie / Def Leppard). The Exits mix of energetic synth rock has landed them airplay including BBC London, Radio 1 Northern Ireland, Kerrang Radio (ones to watch), plus a music award for ‘Best Song’, presented by Express FM. Their music has been featured by MTV in the Dirty Sanchez show, and shortlisted for the Mission Impossible 4 Trailer! Energetic and passionate, the band are currently recording their long awaited debut album, for release in 2013.

The Exits EP features a collection of their material in the lead up to their album. Noteworthy tracks include 'You Gotta Help Me Out’ and ‘The Fear Inside' both of which will appear on their debut album. The band’s sound continually evolves from guitar based with a smattering of electronica, to a heavy synthesised, dance orientated audio assault.

“You can hear the influences that shape Argonaut in their sound – Hole, Garbage and Sonic Youth definitely – but they aren’t slaves to those influences; this is music of a very high standard and it isn’t surprising that they were snapped up last year by Criminal” 4/5 Andy Snipper, Music News

"Argonaut are one of the best bands I've come across in 2012" 9.5/10 Steve, Street Voice UK

"Pretty good! Kind of remind me of the Cranberries meets Joy Formidable!"
    Natasha Grant, Art Rocker

"A beautiful sound to open up the show with. An oldskool, indie sound - the kind you don’t hear much these days, delicate floating female vocals – really liked that!"
    Dave Gilyeat, BBC Introducing

    ‘It’s sparse – but i like that!’
    Steve Lamacq, 6 music

"Sleazy rock falling somewhere between Royal Trux and Bikini Kill. Promising. 4/5"
    Club NME, Brighton

"driving tormented fuzzy- post-rocky sounds with moments of dirgy downbeat melody with Lorna’s preoccupied vocal echoing almost as if from the bottom of a lake covered in jagged winter frost."
    Gordon Johnston, Glasswerk

‘Argonaut put forward a good case for being brilliant…sounds like Siouxsie And The Banshees…their commitment to youth, ideas and passion should be lauded and rewarded’
