Shandianzhan, regarding artist names; That is a very good question and has a long answer. My suggestion is to use this format "Western First Lastname (Kanji name Romaji Last Firstname)" and place artist tags around all three so it will link to other pages. Example: "Rentarō Taki (滝廉太郎 Taki Rentarō)" There are several reasons for this suggestion: 1) Asian names are often written in all three forms depending on where they are published and all are correct in their context. 2) Using the artist tag on all three forms will link to other pages and end the "wrong page" messages, hopefully. 3) Last.FM has a stated policy of posting in english. While this does not apply to artist names, no one should be objecting to romanized spelling for clarity. 4) ID3 tagging is a problem until all recording and playing software can handle multi-byte characters (UTF-8) correctly. We have to be tolerant of reasonable variations based on their language.

Shandianzhan, regarding wrong-tag labels; About the red flag, Last.FM support will remove them if you ask nicely and provide a good reason why. That means you have to provide a new picture and update the bio with a web-site link they can verify before you ask. Then go to the picture tab and flag the wrongtag picture as "inappropriate" and put your explanation there. Not an official policy that I have read, just my experience. Also, take it slow. If we request them all to be removed tomorrow, the answer will certainly be no.

Hajimemashite! I have Japanese traditional (pre-meiji era), contemporary, and soundtracks. So post-edo era classical is in my contemporary group. Please tag as you wish. I hope to find more good Japanese composers here. Please enjoy http://blueheronradio.com ^_^

Ignoring the wrongtag-pic and hoping some people might dislike it (would safe my scarce time resources, keep the Japanese artists playable and the connected artists' names readable for all members) or re-connecting the profiles using kanji (time-intensive for me, because I need to rework all I already did, most of the Japanese artists won't be playable in the short run, probably most people will get problems in reading the names of the artists). So, I'm asking for your opinion on this issue and maybe you guys can support the 1st solution just by doing (only if you prefer this one, of course).

Good evening, everybody! Looks like there's a nice guy around who doesn't have much to do, but to flag Japanese artists whose names are romanized. Well, I thought this group should be useful to people who aren't capable of reading kanji as well, so I mainly connected the romanized profiles, not the kanji ones. I'm actually thinking about how to deal with the matter, because I don't like the wrongtag-pic around everywhere and there are some possible solutions:

If the link doesn't work yet, just watch it up in my tag list on my last.fm-site. It actually features 61 playable artists.

Hey, everybody! I finally created a connected artists only group tag radio. Here is the link: . It's just established, so don't be too upset if it's not running properly yet. I'm trying to improve it soon, but feedback is highly appreciated.

BTW, kage24! Joe Hisaishi is already in, but in Japanese characters (久石譲). I decided to connect every artist only once, because you can solely at 200 artist connections to every group and I want to keep space for as many artists as possible. But to solve the problem of making clear who is who I'm planning to edit an entry, so everybody knows what name variations are to be found on last.fm and which are actually featured in the group. Unfortunately I'm a bit buisy lately...
