I saw MEEKAHMISFIT post this in the shoutbox and thought I'd put it here too...Though I've only joined at the end of 2006 and never experienced the earlier designs (which I thought to be simple and elegant), I could say that this is a new low...

props for the mention ;)
yeah i thought it was pretty cool that they had that stuff up... but the recent design, the one we all practically love/like (maybe it wasnt perfect) but it better than this, was not up there :(

I'm sure somebody out there has taken screenshots of their pages recently; I wish I had. I grabbed mine from google cache but it has my username and 'last.fm' highlighted, or else I'd gladly add it. *shakes head*

All you had to do was remove "last.fm+greenwatch" from the URL.

its sad to think that we might never see that design again... the least they can do is try to improve this design by making it look a bit more like the old one :/ small shoutbox on the side somewhere and get rid of that awful HUGE player, get the damn tag clouds back... etc.

The old one was way to plain, the new old one was damn great and the new one ... needs ... improvements. *cough*

All you had to do was remove "last.fm+greenwatch" from the URL.

after seeing the last time compared to this one, you really understand the different feeling you get when you go to the site.

i do at least. the old one just felt better to navigate, and was simple

I love how they point out the issues with the last revision in '06. I wasn't here then, but after finally seeing this "mythical layout", it sucked. The one they just switched from is clearly an improvement. And of course is better then the new '08 one. It's just common sense. All you have to do is open your eyes.

Last.fm- start with the graphics, if you must keep your wacky new layout, start to change the charts back to the way they looked, then start addressing your interface issues, maybe then you'll get back to a place where people can tolerate it.

Wow.. after looking at those, I finally figured out when I made my old Last.fm page (beginning of '06). So many memories lol.

EDIT: HOLY HELL! My deleted account still shows up in Google Cache.. awesome!

Yes, I remember that design well, such an orgasm, amazing how much value we all put into these pics now that they have taken so much of what we valued, the simplicity of the olden days and now this fake facebook.
