    Bandcamp - Youtube - Blog - Facebook

I'm updating these as fingermouse_irl said he has no more time to follow them!

    BANDCAMP

I uploaded Apskaft Presents: Musique Concrète.

I added Ditzky's article for Apskafters #2 on album frontpage, and the single microreviews in every song page. I also include in album download a copy of Apskafters 2 pdf.

Slowly I will upload all the records still missing, so we link them to our group homepage albums area.

    YOUTUBE

They enabled for Apskaft channel uploads longer than 15 minutes, so we can actually put online Apskaft's Battleship Potemkin in a single videoclip. I lost the 1080p master during a disk half-disaster, but still have the project files, so I can render it again and upload asap.

    BLOG

By now I'm doing nothing, as I have no time free left.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my opinion we should coordinate graphics on all our web pages (here, youtube, blog, bandcamp) so people see a certain logical organization, and hopefully trust more our job / are invited to listen and download. Now I only have a few time to fill in the blanks in youtube and bandcamp, plus following Apskafters, so graphic harmonization can be postponed in the next future.

The blog is something that everyone could contribute to. Thus far, it's been focused on lo-fi recording techniques and such, which is very interesting - but it could be about anything, just like Apskaft itself. I'm sure each and every one of us has something to convey from time to time.

Yes, a blog can turn to a full website - fingermouse_irl already structured it. There are de facto many areas ready to be filled with contents. We could also take advantage of them to fill Apskafters rubrics.

All those, except Inbreeding, should already be in IA.

    BANDCAMP & YOUTUBE

After a whole weekend (sunday night included: a nightmare) I finished to upload 11 records missing on Bandcamp, now all Apskaft discography is available.

    Jeez HOW LONG IS IT???

I finished Battleship Potemkin 1080p and I'm uploading on Youtube. It's about 3 GB so it needs 20 hours to finish, more or less tomorrow 2:00 AM (mid europe timezone). I added in description links to Apskafters n. 3 for info and Bandcamp for downloads.

Upload finished, Battleship Potemkin is online.

At the end I saw near the movie "Matched third-party content". I clicked and I found a page saying this:

Copyright Info: Apskaft Presents: Battleship Potemkin
Your video, Apskaft Presents: Battleship Potemkin , may include content that is owned or administered by these entities:

    • Entity: Fundação Padre Anchieta (TV Cultura) - Content Type: Visual content
    • Entity: Mosfilm - Content Type: Visual content
    • Entity: tvrainru - Content Type: Visual content
    • Entity: Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society - Content Type: Musical Composition

    What should I do?
No action is required on your part. Your video is still available worldwide. In some cases ads may appear next to your video.

What can I do about my video's status?
Please note that the video's status can change, if the policies chosen by the content owners change. You may want to check back periodically to see if you have new options available to you.

Under certain circumstances, you may dispute this copyright claim. These are:

    • if the content is mistakenly identified and is actually completely your original creation;
    • if you believe that your use does not infringe copyright (e.g. it is fair use under US law);
    • if you are actually licensed by the owner to use this content.

What really pisses me, is Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society claiming rights for... the soundtrack.

If there's one thing that nobody can claim, except who were involved in this project, is our tracks. Wtf is this, SOPA side effects?

The Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society is a scam. They do not exist. I googled it and they seem to be claiming copyright for loads of music that they clearly do not have the rights to. Read this thread for more info, or google their name for even more.

Also, the film is public domain, no one can claim copyright for it. Have you appealed to youtube? They will hopefully fix it.

Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society means SIAE in Italy or any right collective sociiety, they don't put the name because those companies CLAIMS ALWAYS even if they don't have any right, and they don't want to do epic fails repeatedly when people sue them back.

The real problem here is that maybe the movie is free of copyright, but if somebody buy the rights of distribution then have some weapons to break the balls to honest people.

  • I had the same sort of problem on YouTube a year or so ago. There's a video I made called "Meat" which uses public domain stuff combined with animation I made. The soundtrack was a mixture of my own voice talking plus bits of zombie noises taken from George A. Romero's public domain "Night of the Living Dead".

YouTube informed me in exactly the same way as above that a copyright claim had been made on the soundtrack. I objected via the correct channels which YouTube provides for objection and they responded by immediately removing the adverts and the copyright claim. I was impressed by how quickly they dealt with the issue.

I think some companies claim copyright on anything they might get away with and then they back down at the first sign of objection.

    Exactly.

The sad thing is I already did it with the sliced version of potemkin, I mean: I had to do an objection for every single slice of movie, so 18 forms to compile and send. They make you lose TONS of time.

And now, I'm back to the start again. :(

    Here's the high quality version:

I don't think the radio show needs to be added, because it's not an actual album.

Thanks for the hi-res cover, and, yes, after all it's a radio show not a record. Probably we could make a "radio shows" area in blog and put it there.

On youtube all the companies agreed with my dispute and retired their claim, except one (tvrainru).

  • I found this similar false claIm by tvrain channel, a Russian tv channel.

Yes, they're one of the companies built by the famous Putin Mobster System ©.
