  320 kbps mp3 (or 256kbps AAC, since it's basically equivalent to 320 mp3) is how i prefer to listen to music. If I want lossless I buy it on CD/vinyl.

  FLAC is good for archiving if you have tons of disk space availlable. I archive my CDs in a rack. ;)

  Plug your ipod into a good stereo system, you can definitely tell the difference between 128, 256 & 320. Just sayin.
