None of those bands are my favorite, but I respect most of them.

Fall of Troy, C&C along with Circa Survive get you some props... however, not quite eclectic enough for my tastes.

The Mars Volta- you obviously haven't really even listened to them.
Circa Survive- you're obviously gay
The Sound of Animals Fighting - once again it's apparent that you don't have the patience to appreciate beautiful music.
The Black Dahlia Murder- listen to them.

Slipknot- hmm i can understand your dislike because until a few months ago i hated them with a passion, but in the end it's flat out good shit.

Stretch Armstrongs first album is some of the best metalcore ever written (not counting the mostly atrocious lyrics). The fact that you are trying to tell me that the fall of troy is better then the blood brothers in ANY conceivable aspect whatsoever is so mind blowingly stupid that I can't even begin to comprehend it. Crimes is their worst album and it is still miles beyond anything the fall of troy has ever even thought of producing. Their guitar player is a one trick pony who wishes he could make dissonance sound as easy as Cody Votolato.

Pop Prog with vaguely arty word salad lyrics is not exaclty what I would call beautiful. Maybe they are TRYING to be beautiful. Maybe thats why it all sounds so feeble and forced.

And Mr. Lawry gets -10 for At the Drive-In but +10 for loving Jason Tate. 10/10
