It seems Last.fm no longer values its subscribers. This group recognizes the need for a group to protest to Last.fm across a range of issues for the mutual benefit of its users and the success of the business.

What will the tie up between Facebook and Spotify do to Last.fm? Sounds like another nail in the coffin?

Looking at the number of subscribers who drop by here, there are still a lot of disgruntled users.

What about really random radio, where it just plays anything from it's 7 million song database?

Anybody who hasn't discovered the Google Chrome free music player should really give it a go. Changing your browser is a small price to pay for being able to play your loved tracks sequentially once again. A bit like stumbling upon Nirvana (not the band) but the mythical utopia :) And since the full track playing people need donations, this would seem a better place for any monies.

Kind of funny anyway. Subscribe cost same amount in £ and €, thing is 1£ is 1,1751€ and that means we bay less for every subscribe. British people bays 0,44703£ more than finnish peoples in every subscribe

Totally agreed with you TuneBlendR. I just cancelled my subscription yesterday (for some reason it still shows I'm a subscriber, don't know why...) just because of the radios, there's just nothing interesting left if you ask me.

I find it extremely disappointing that Last.fm will be dropping members' Loved Tracks and Playlists. I really enjoy listening to others' Loved tracks and it is a wonderful way to become acquainted with new music. Without these benefits, I do not see any advantages for keeping my membership.

Well, the thing I like about Spotify is that it's pretty similar to iTunes: you can create playlists and listen to songs in whatever order you like. You can also listen to songs on repeat as many times as you want, and basically you can listen to whatever you want, not like on last.fm that you choose a radio station and hope something good is on. But of course, if you prefer that radio system and finding new bands and not choosing specific songs, then you probably like last.fm more.

Thanks for letting me know about the official survey, I did it now. And yeah, I agree what you mean, I'm not saying Spotify is better than last.fm. Both have good and bad sides, but right now, because of the changes with last.fm radios, I prefer Spotify. I'm not going to stop using last.fm completely, just the subscribing. I love last.fm thanks to forums and these shoutboxes, it's such a nice way for finding new friends.

unaesthetic, I have to disagree with you... I don't listen to major label crap but still find almost all of my favorite bands on Spotify. I just subscribed there, it's 4.99 euros per month, and I'm gonna unsubscribe last.fm since they're removing the loved tracks radio. And I agree that 3 euros a month is too low, I would've been happy to pay more just so I could've listen to loved tracks and playlists, but no. Stupid last.fm :/ Anyway, now I've discovered Spotify and like it a lot more than last.fm, so this doesn't really matter to me anymore.

The problem with spotify is that there's no decent music (only major label crap) and no musician access to upload tracks. I don't know we7 but I'd assume it's the same. Grooveshark on the other hand is free (for now) and has tons of interesting music. I haven't tried contributing music to it yet though. Last.fm remains the best platform for underground musicians to showcase their work for free.

If lastfm charged £10 a month, I'd just stick to a Spotify subscription. I only listen to my loved tracks on here because I'm too lazy to make my own playlists.

£3 a month in the UK is too low, particularly when subscribers are a small part of the usage. Subs to Spotify and We7 cost £4.99-£9.99 depending on the features selected, and that's what Last needs to charge in the UK. And they need to charge a higher rate (higher than $3 or 3 Euros or whatever) in the US and the rest of Western Europe. And no, it makes no sense to pay more for a 'nothing' service. But if you pay peanuts you get monkeys.
