introduced me to a whole new sphere of music, made new friends because of it, 'lovers' too, as a result I go to a lot of gigs with very close friends and listen to a lot of music.

had I not listened to that album none of that would have happened in that particular way. thus the changing.

  • Thats allways hard to say, i think, music is such an essential thing.

I think Sonata Arcticas latest Masterpiece Unia has guided me through a tough time.

Well, I think music can radically change your perspective, your politics your outlook or just the way you feel at any given moment which can in itself be life changing. When the Red Hot Chili Peppers came out with Blood Sugar Sex Magick - along with music by Nirvana and Soundgarden my faith in rock was restored (at least for a decade anyway). A lot of the rock music that was popular when I was young was hair band rock. By the late 80's mainstream rock had become so excessive and meaningless (with the exception of GNR) that hearing bands like RHCP temporarily changed my taste in music for at least ten years and later it introduced me to other bands that I normally wouldn't have listened to like Soundgarden (too bad this band is gone) NIN, Filter, Deftones, Black Flag and Tool. I don't listen to rock anymore but I still listen to the ones I just named.

Anyway, that's my take on it.

Had a few, for varying reasons.

    Blur - The Great Escape
Probably the first real rock/indie based album I ever listened to. The first band that I started to really enjoy listening to, before that it was just the odd song here or there on the radio or cheesey radio pop that really never made me think at all.

R.E.M. - Automatic for the People
Despite Blur getting me into rock, other than a few artists like Oasis I didn't listen to many other bands. That was until I listened to this. A friend played it while I was at his house, it blew me away. It made we want to try out new bands, led me to finding Artists like Nirvana, Guns N Roses, Green Day and The Ramones. Made me want to be a rock star (which I am still working on).

    Rammstein - Mutter
After close friend let me listen to Links 2 3 4 I picked up the album and it really opened my eyes to listening to music with vocals in non-english. Before that I never listened to much non-english stuff, it had never occurred to me that focusing on the instruments more than the lyrics of a song can be just as interesting and inspiring.

Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just Breathing
In recent times this album has help me through many changes and personal struggles in my life. Something about it (and I can't place what really) makes me want to live life and enjoy it to max. Just putting on the album makes me feel creative and inspires me like never before.

I think you're deluded. And "if it was not me and my life there were no some good friends in it and so and so" means nothing.
