anybody have any ideas on a timescale for the facebook integration? i assumed that - seeing the teaser - last.fm would have launched with the new platform...

facebook integration

facebook started a whole bunch of new applications today including a bunch of music ones.... I'd like to use last.fm, because you guys are great, but they do have a couple that will read what I'm playing on itunes

if you're going to release a facebook widget - I'd do it soon...before people start using these new services...

Yeah, I agree with newmordernist

There are a lot of people using this "MOG" application that's a wannabe scrobbler.

Please get a last.fm app out. I don't want to sign up for another inferior scrobbler.

I was really disappointed to find out today that Facebook teamed up with MOG (who's even heard of MOG??) instead. Last.fm kicks MOG's ass a few hundred times over.

I'm trying this MOG thing out out of curiosity and I already hate it. It made me choose folders on my computer that had my music files in them, and then it started indexing and identifying them all. Downloading the Audioscrobbler app wasn't a hassle like this one is.

facebook app please!!

i really like the new facebook apps, but it would amazing if we could have a last.fm one. in the MOG (seriously, what in the world?) threads, people have been complaining a lot. many people seem interested in the concept of tracking songs in i-tunes because within the first day 2,500+ people have tried out this MOG app.
facebook has 24 million users, and that number is growing by 5 digits a day (or something like that). imagine the opportunities for last.fm! i post my last.fm link proudly under my favorite music, but i think a full out app showing up on my page would be a lot better and effective.

Yeah guys, please don't lose to MOG - it's absolutely terrible compared to L.fm, but if it's the only choice on Facebook I fear that's what most people will default to :(.

Last.fm App on Facebook

For now, it'll do. All it really does is embed one of the old style charts on your Facebook page. Please Last.fm, let your teasers be an indication that you are writing a super cool app for Facebook. TWO of your competitors are in the top 5 app spots (iLike at #1, Mog at #5). If Last.fm gets one out there, I'll do all I can to get it to the top!

Last.fm will be on top

for sure.. MOG and ilike kinda suck.. I don't understand why they don't hurry though.. it would add so much value to both FB and last.fm to be able, besides simply sharing on FB charts and recently played widgets from content/data from w/in the last.fm community, to be able to add to the app. stuff from w/in FB networks (from their social graph) - would also add so much value to neighbours, reccomendations and events..

not sure if that makes sense, but the bottom line really hoping that last.fm launch FB apps soon!! Most of the ones launced on FB seem to be kind of useless compared to what last.fm offers...

Frankly I don't think any amount of 'get'er done!' in here is going to make things go any faster. Whatever they have will make its way out in due time.

PS the last.fm app that has already been posted is a little problematic, so I've heard. Doesn't refresh.

We are working on it, however Facebook gave our competitors several weeks' head start over this, which they perplexingly didn't give us.

hooray! MOG is a terrible application! ive been voiceing my opinion on facebook about how MOG is terrible and Last.fm should come up with an app. i hope all goes well with it!!

There is xat's Last.fm Plugin which allows your overall tracks, artists, recent artists, and recent tracks to be displayed using Last.FM's old charts program.

I've written one that uses the Flash widgets. Nothing super but it works better than the other ones I've seen. Should be okay till the official one launches...

well, I'm really looking forward to the facebook-last.fm integration. and I think that things will go fine as far as taking over iLife and MOG. it's quite obvious that last.fm is superior, and if anyone doesn't see that after last.fm gets going on facebook, why are you their friends anyway? ;)

stupid idea, but it'd be fun to have a color switch of last.fm to the facebook blue, along with the red and black.

and they should totally make that a crayola crayon... "facebook blue."

I've not looked at iLife but with competition like MOG I think last.fm could delay this until 2045 and still be ahead of the game..
