  • Two artists with the same name are represented as one profile, not sure if there is a way of correcting this?

This artist page - http://www.last.fm/music/Warrior - describes a heavy metal band, but included in their tracks list are songs by this man (who mustn't have a page if his songs are found on this heavy metal page) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Woods_%28producer%29 - as he goes by the name Warrior for a handful of songs (along with a bunch of other names which may or may not have their own page).

I see there is an FAQ on merging two artists into one, but is it possible to split up a page which has incorrectly joined two artists with the same name?

    Thanks for any assistance.

Last.fm does not seperate artists with the same name (yet). So, no!

" they said the classics never go out of style, but they do, they do "
  • In that case, what is the best way of bringing this to Last FM's attention so they might do something about it in the future?

    Thanks.

  • We're well aware of the artist disambiguation problem, and there is some planning going into this issue. It is however a complicated problem, as our database schema doesn't currently support shared names.

  • Thank you for that information, might I suggest you include it as a FAQ? Additionally, where do I find news about changes to the website so I could see when this may be coming into effect?

    Thanks again.
