  • Live music! At last!

    It seems like ages I've been to watch a gig, so I'm thrilled that within a few weeks I'll be seeing some kick-ass live music action! I also was at this year's QStock. I was working there 12 hours on saturday in the vincinity of the Rockpolis stage, so I sort of caught a good bunch of bands, but couldn't really concentrate on them obviously. It was great to hear Dian's Sunshine Eventide, anyway! I also watched a bit of Punaisen kuningattaren periaate on my lunch break. I was a bit underwhelmed - I enjoyed it, but I felt this probably wasn't their best gig ever.

    On friday I had no work, and I was free to enjoy some bands! 22-Pistepirkko, Äänijännite and Artificial Latvamäki were all great. 22-pp had some shaky spots in the gig, but some awesome moments as well. I was surprised they played Birdy. After that they were quietly negotiating what to play next. I think Espe commented this was the first time they stuck to the preplanned setlist - apparently they played it through and still had lots of time. …

    Fri 25 Jul – Qstock

    sää suosi oman kylän festareita. aurinko paisteli kumpanakin päivänä mutta lämpötila pysy siedettävänä kiitos tuulenvireen.

    perjantain festarointi alko perinteisellä Qstock-jutulla eli jonottamisella! Mokoman soitellessa jonotin sissään n. 40 min. tosin joku jossain eppäili että sillon jonot oli pahimmillaan. ja eipä mua vituttanu yhtään se jonotus eli kaikin hyvin.
    no sisälle päästyäni kiertelin aikani ja ihmettelin uutta aluetta. tilaa oli ja Päälava Raatin kentällä oli toimiva juttu. :) kävin siinä kiertelyn lomassa vähän aikaa kattelemassa Tuomas Henrikin Jeesuksen Kristuksen Bändiä ja tykkäilin kyllä mutten malttanu jäähä kattoon koko settiä, heh.
    eka keikka minkä kattoin kunnolla oli Rättö ja Lehtisalo ja mikä keikka se olikaan! ihan mieletön setti! ku on omaa luokkaansa niin on luokkansa paras. :D lissää sitä! saavat tulla Ouluun taas pian jookojooko? :)
    no seuraavaksi sosialisoin kavereitten kans. Artificial Latvamäki meni vähän ohi. …

  • Holiday update

    Qstock, the rock festival right here in my hometown, begins today. This is the first time I'm attending; in previous years I've been either out of town or simply not interested enough, but this year I made up my mind the moment I heard that Manic Street Preachers are coming. It's about bloody time that I saw them live - I was going to, in Helsinki several years ago when they were on tour, but then they decided to focus instead on getting their compilation album released and the concert was cancelled.

    I've been on long-expected and well-deserved (I hope...) summer vacation for two weeks now, with two more to go. The weather's been a bit of a mixed bag, but it looks like we finally have a proper summer going on now, just in time for the festival. There was one nice and sunny day right at the beginning of my vacation, when I had a friend over from Helsinki, and we had some highly enjoyable moments reclining in the gentle evening sun slurping mojitos.
