If there is a space and time when people breathe and dance like one, let’s make it be from 21-24 of July 2011 on a beautiful location in Serbia, surrounded by waterfalls and endless mountain horizon. Allow us to fill many hearts and to inspire thousands of smiling faces with gentle sounds. Same as children playing, people are closest to their inner self and open to change when dancing.

Year 2011 is the second year in which the seed of Zenit festival continues its journey with vision of necessary inner transformation. Today, more than ever, we need to understand the message nature sends us. The words of one of the greatest philosophers and spokesperson of the 20th century still echo through universe, spreading the noble vision of positive social changes. “It is our earth, not yours or mine or his. We are meant to live on it, helping each other, not destroying each other. ”

LOCATION

The name of Kamena Gora is devised from the words kamen (rock) and gora (forest), and it literarily means « forest on the rock ».

The village is about 20 kilometres away from the town of Prijepolje. Kamena Gora is situated between 800 and 1500 meters high, and it is the borderline between Serbia and Montenegro.

Kamena Gora is rich in flora and fauna, woods and clear water springs, which can be found on every step (there are over 100 registered strong, water-rich springs in the area).

The oldest inhabitant of Kamena Gora is the Old PIne, tall 13 meters, the circumference of the treetop is 18 meters and of the trunk 5 meters, and is around 500 years old. This black pine is the symbol of everything holy, so the local folks named this pine Svetibor (holy pine).

This pine has been the cult tree of this part of the country. It has always been used as a part of the local culture, and used in local medicine - healers were taking pine’s resin and using it as a cure.

An old legend says:

 » One old pine lives on these hilltops. 350 years ago, when previous inhabitants were leaving this areas, they wrote down reasons for their departure, made a hole in the trunk, and left their message in the tree. The ageing, crust and resin took their toll. The secret of the indigenous people will always remain in the heart of the Pine. « 

The people of the mountain respect this cult tree and wouldn’t take a pinecone from it. They respect its age and secrets.
