Stendhal Syndrome is a psychosomatic disorder that causes rapid heartbeat, dizziness, confusion and sometimes hallucinations, when an individual is exposed to art, usually when the art is particularly profound and a large amount of art is in the same place.


Ever spent a day ambling around fields listening to; poetry…watching a play, some afternoon jazz, after dinner comedy, maybe a literary debate, early evening folk…rock…indie…and much more… Or maybe you’d prefer to join the Artists’ colony painting the festival/ mountains as they roll by, sculpt a clay figure…watch some street performance, dance…or simply sit on a grassy hill in good company absorbing the soulful vibe.

If so, on August 20, 2011, Stendhal Festival of Art is the place for you.

Set in the picturesque surrounds of Ballymully Cottage Farm on the outskirts of Limavady, Stendhal Festival of Art (subject to licence) will bring a brand new artistic experience to the Roe Valley, home of Danny Boy.
