SoundTown is the first festival and really the kick-off party under the new ownership at Somerset Amphitheater. The venue has undergone some major improvements and what better way to re-open the doors to the improved site than holding a two-day indie rock festival. The lineup has influences from a few different genres – folk/bluegrass, hip-hop and electronic, but most predominantly indie rock.

    There's some sort of bug with the site - I can edit/save that field on the venue page just fine (and really did put "Somerset" there), but for whatever reason, "Minneapolis" keeps showing up. I sent in a bug report. Agreed that it's about time for a good outdoor festival around here. And double-agreed on the ridiculous name.

    Also, can the event creator please change the address info? Somerset, Wisconsin isn't quite in Minneapolis.

    So going to this. Awesome, awesome lineup. It's about time the Twin Cities gets a decent indie music festival (thank you, 89.3 The Current). They could have chosen a less ridiculous name, though. SoundTown? Really?
