On 14th – 17th July in the sumptuous surrounds of the Suffolk countryside, the welcoming daisy-adorned gates will open for the 6th edition of the magical and fantastical Latitude Festival.

Since its inception in 2006, Latitude has changed the face of festivals forever, with a passion only matched by its ambition. Encompassing all aspects of the art and music worlds Latitude is the only place that brings together the best in music, literature, comedy, poetry, film, theatre, cabaret, art, dance, opera and fashion for one spectacular weekend. Bigger and better for 2011 Latitude has an increased arena size but with no capacity increase, allowing festival goers to roam the site freely while keeping its intimate and cosy feel; and there is also a second bridge across the lake from which crowds can enjoy spectacular light and visual displays and ad hoc performances. With an unrivalled programme of music and arts scheduled all weekend long, Latitude will continue to inspire and innovate, enlighten and engage with another incredible event promised for 2011.

    The National were excellent! Defo my highlight. Oh and Bright Eyes, The B.Goodes, Crystal Fighters, The Vaccines, Ed Sheeran, Everything Everything and Esben And The Witch. All in all a pretty awesome weekend. I hope the lineup for 2012 is as good!

    Really? Surprised people were impressed with Deerhunter, they were all in a foul mood, and I've seen them play a lot better than that. Also the setlist was weak, pretty much no Microcastle which was a bit of a shame, cause Agoraphobia is a top notch live song. Biggest disappointment of the weekend for me. However The National, Bright Eyes, Caribou, Tripwires and James Blake were excellent.

    Freaking Awesome Weekend! My highlights - The National (so so so good), Ed Sheeran (i nearly cried!), The B.Goodes (totally rocked the Lake Stage in the rain!), Naked and Famous, Caribou, Crystal Fighters, Foals and Seasick Steve (with THE John-Paul Jones on bass!).

    best bands of the weekend where:- deerhunter, james blake, fool's gold, mazes, gold panda, the naked and famous and foals (although the start of their set pissed me off when little kids tried to own the front of the crowd but then failed and just collapsed on everyone stopping my favourite song).

    As annoying as it is for a band you like to get cut off the alternative is that either the next band ends up getting a shorter set (which wouldn't be fair to their fans either) or everything ends up further and further behind schedule. Actually cutting someone off during the middle of a song sounds a bit extreme though.

    @paigesmurphy i know, that was so crap, stopping the deerhunter gig so suddenly, and during THAT song. I don't think it just annoyed the band. I know there are set times and schedules, but there has to be some sort of grace period. This happened to a lot more artists throughout the weekend too, pretty poor for a supposed arts festival.
