Classic Rock’s award-winning High Voltage festival will return in 2011 – and today we can reveal the two main headline attractions: Judas Priest and Dream Theater.

High Voltage is set to take place on Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Victoria Park, London.

Brummie heavy metal veterans Judas Priest will headline the main stage on the 23rd. Thirty-one years after they sealed their reputation as one of the world’s great festival acts with their performance at the inaugural Monsters Of Rock event, the band have chosen High Voltage as the sole UK festival date on their ‘Epitaph’ farewell tour.

Progressive metal titans Dream Theater will headline the main stage on the 24th. High Voltage 2011 will mark the first UK performance of their new line-up following the departure of drummer and founding member Mike Portnoy.

Of course, High Voltage is much more than just the bands. As part of the HV experience we are pleased to announce the first two on-site attractions…

Ace Café London will return to High Voltage in 2011 with a bigger, bolder area offering drinks, food and generous seating, all set within the surroundings of the historic Ace Café London experience.

The True Evel Exhibition will be dedicated to Evel Knievel, the original motorcycle daredevil. On display will be Evel’s original motorcycles, jump leathers, personal memorabilia and more.

Like last year’s inaugural festival featuring ZZ Top and Emerson Lake & Palmer, High Voltage 2011 will be custom-built by rock fans for rock fans.

The facilities will be second to none: great food, proper beer, clean toilets, deluxe hospitality packages, designated hotels, free shuttle transport. This is somewhere you can take the whole family.

Only High Voltage gives ticket buyers the freedom to design their own bespoke festival package – which can include accommodation, transport, parking and VIP bar access.

Tickets are priced £99 (for weekend tickets) and £56.50 (for day tickets). VIP tickets will be available at £105 for the day and £199 for the weekend. There will also be various VIP and hotel packages available, at varying price levels to suit. There is no booking fee for tickets.

Tickets are available from www.highvoltagefestival.com or 24hr cc ticketline 0871 230 5582.

Wobbler would be good. Although, I'm not too sure on their new vocalist. Big elf were there last year but I missed them. Wouldn't make the same mistake twice! I reckon symphony x could be a good shout for the metal stage next year

I guess we all have differing opinions - could only make Sunday - surprise package was Spocks Beard (apart from when the overgrown college boy came on at the end...) Why oh why weren't Tull headlining the main stage rather than the bombastic Dream Theatre? Otherwise - great festival - long may it continue!

Neurosis and Judas Priest were worth the ticket price alone. Gentlemans Pistols and Graveyard were amazing, even better than on record. Ravens Creed, Grand Magus and Black Spiders were also cool. It's a shame I couldn't see Jethro Tull or Arthur Brown because of the stupid schedule.

That was even better than last year's festival! Everything on the Prog stage was incredible... Except Neal Morse's Christianity :P Hope it's on again next year!

yeah, well... i came to HV to see and listen to as much as i could. planned on 17 bands, saw 15 out of those 17 and i don't think one of them was bad. as i said, curved air wasn't really my thing but there were good moments and queensryche was quite enjoyable but not that spectacular. and i really liked the rest. amplifier was fantastic! schenker had a great setlist with some fine guests (btw. who was the bass player, not pete way, the other one?), i didn't really know thunder - they are almost completely unknown in my country and i wanted to take a look for some 15-20 minutes just out of curiosity and it turned out to be a great gig! DT was great as always, JLB was great, not as always ;) finally got to see the Priest. had tickets for their show in Poland some 6 years ago, but the Pope died something like 2-3 days before the date and they canceled. i'd really like to see aerosmith or rush next year, riverside on prog stage would be great though i have them on daily basis in Poland ;)

i did see spocks beard and although i'm not a huge fan of their stuff, i quite enjoyed it. strange that the band that amazed you the most were disapointing foe me and visa versa. i guess that proves it's all down to personal opinions and has nothing to do with not appreciating what you've got ;). Still i was amazed following the DT set to overhear someone say they've just sat through the worse 2 and a half hours of a rock show ever! there's no pleasing some people

quite opposite for me. i liked caravan, one of the best performances of the festival for me. bjh was ok, great to hear mockingbird, but i wasn't amazed that much, though kinda liked it. curved air was the biggest disappointment for me. it started not so well, though i must admit, they got better towards the end. 2 things i regret were not seeing bonamassa with JT (i left the prog stage area when DT was about to start) and not going to spock's beard and thus not seeing their reunion with neil morse... had i known he was supposed to be there, i would have gone there at least for some half an hour before bcc's gig (had a great spot near the stage and didn't want to give it up before bcc). but other than that, these were absolutely fantastic 2 days of music. especially for someone from a different country, who doesn't have a chance to see all those great bands in one place during one weekend. you uk people are spoiled, like i said here some days ago ;) you can't appreciate what you have ;)

Day 1 was a slight disapointment for me. i'm not sure what it was, perhaps the lack of bands that i was interested in. Iwas looking forward to seeing Caravan, but found them mildly disapointing. their set got better towards the end though. BJH were the only real highlight of the day for me. Day 2 was a different story. pallas followed by the enid followed by the best performance of the weekend, Curved Air. I could have gone home after those 3 a very happy boy. but instead i hung around for DT and was not disapointed. sterling show!

Best bands, Caravan and Jethro Tull on the prog stage, Black Spiders and Grand Magus on the metal stage, Judas Priest and Thunder on the main stage, AND THE SEX PIRATES IN THE BEER TENT. Worst bands of the festival... Dream Theatre was the only sucky band there all weekend.

i wonder what made you all listen to the bands you don't like? if you only went there for 1/2 bands, why didn't you go home after their concerts? what's the point of listening to the ones you don't like and then writing here that they were bad? i guess that's what they call trolling or whatever...

Dream Theater almost became listenable when watched from the Ferris wheel. ...Almost. Priest/Jethro Tull gave the best performances :D
