I've never seriously reviewed an event before but I feel this event raised some very important issues that need addressing.
Firstly, and most obviously, the weather. I know the organisers can do nothing about the weather (which was awful, torrential rain) but there were many things they could do to alleviate the effect this had on the audience! Understandably, umbrella's were being told to be put down - in such a corwded area this is what you would expect - but they gave nobody any alternatives. I circuited the arena 3 times and came across nobody selling ponchos/rain-macs. You may say people should bring their own, or that the event organisers weren't responsible, but many people had to walk from campsites, sometimes miles away from the event and didn't want to carry a lot of things to the beach.
Secondly, the idea of a concert on a beach may sound appealing initially, but it was horrible. Mainly because of the rain…
