Tue 27 Jan – Architects, Misery Signals, a textbook tragedy, We Stare At Mirrors
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I bought my ticket for this gig, I mainly go to metal gigs and this was the first sole metalcore/deathcore/mathcore/hardcore gig I went to.
The doors opened pretty late, 8pm, which sucked a bit, but the first band We Stare At Mirrors started nice and quickly. To be honest I don't remember a lot about this band as i was more amused by what I was told was called a 'hardcore pit', I don't understand this at all as most of the bands were fairly heavy, all be it with hardcore vocals, but I wouldn't have minded moshing a bit. But anyway......
The next band, A Text Book Tragedy, came on and I thought they were quite impressive at first, a decent north-american metalcore band, reminded me a bit too much of 36 Crazyfists but it was ok all the same. 6/10
Next up were Misery Signals. These guys were really good but I felt it was ruined a bit by the hardcore dancers getting way into it if you know what I mean. …
