• Boston/Styx...AWESOME show!

Wed 13 Aug – Boston, Styx

This was a really good sold-out show. Styx opened up and were impeccable...thankfully we didn't hear "Mr. Roboto." The lead singer sounds very close to Dennis DeYoung. They were really flawless. And I had no idea Tommy Shaw was like, 4 feet tall!

Boston just wasn't the same without Delp. I saw them with Delp back in 05. However, DeCarlo, with the help of Michael Sweet, pulled off great vocals that sounded astonishingly close to Delp's range. I teared up when they dedicated "To Be a Man" to Delp. He was with us in spirit!
Good to hear some well-known tunes "Peace of Mind," "Smokin," "More than a Feeling" and the more obscure, "Cool the Engines" and "Don't Be Afraid." Great, GREAT show!
  • Boston was the Bomb - GREAT SHOW!!

Wed 13 Aug – Boston, Styx was a GREAT show. Brad Delp was clearly missing in the Boston segment - as could be noticed in some of the vocals - especially on More Than A Feeling - but the concert was the bomb anyway. Great show to a packed house.

It was my first time seeing either one of these bands live. I know, I know ... lame ... right? Anyway, both groups were amazing with timeless music. For those not familiar with Pier Six Concert Pavilion in Baltimore ... it's a terrific outdoor venue in the heart of the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. You should check it out.
