First up was London After Midnight, The Birthday Massacre, and Mindless Self Indulgence. I had been frothing at the mouth to see The Birthday Massacre since seeing them back in September. I hadn't even been into them for a week yet when I saw them then, so it was a real treat this time. The venue was a hell of a lot nicer, so I was actually able to hear Chibi this time around. If it isn't obvious enough, I mainly went to this show for The Birthday Massacre. I hadn't even heard of London After Midnight until I found out they were on the card, and I'm not really a huge fan of Mindless Self Indulgence. …

Live Music Overload

It seems like every time there is a show I want to go to, two or three more pop up within a week of it. This month, however, I wound up going to three shows within a week of each other. This was a lot like a week back in last September. I even made repeat visits to two of the same venues from that week as well. Anyway, enough babbling and on with it.

What A Show!

Mon 26 May – Iron Maiden.
I just got back from this concert, and WOW!
This is the best Iron Maiden concert I've seen live. The songs, the energy and the visuals made for a great show.
I have to admit, I was surprised at their high energy level during the show. Bruce ran around and bounced around the stage just like he did back in the Powerslave days. Bruce's vocals were spot on and his voice did not waver. His dialogue with the the audience really made me feel connected with the band.
I have been an Iron Maiden fan for a long, long, long time. It was a special treat to hear "Hallowed Be Thy Name" live again.
The stage was very dynamic with effects and Eddie. We got to see a mummy Eddie and the "Somewhere In Time" Eddie. There was fire, sparks, mummies, pharaohs, demons, and much more!
My hope is that Maiden keeps going strong for a long time.
Up the Ironz!
