The Ataris
Together on stage for the first time in a decade, the classic line-up of The Ataris will perform their million-selling album So Long, Astoria in its entirety from start to finish. For one tour only, Kristopher Roe, Mike Davenport, Chris Knapp and John Collura are reuniting to bring you an evening filled with your favorite songs such as In This Diary, So Long, Astoria and their iconic version of Don Henley’s Boys of Summer. So take back what belongs to you, and make new memories with the band that helped redefine independent spirited, get in the van, punk rock and roll through the lens of vivid confessionals and melodic heartfelt sing-alongs.
Formed in 1996, The Ataris went on to sell hundreds of thousands of albums on small independent label Kung Fu Records before signing to Columbia Records in 2001. In 2003, the band released their career-defining album, So Long, Astoria, which sold over a million copies and spawned the hits, In this Diary, The Saddest Song and Boys of Summer. Headlining multiple Warped Tours and selling out major tours of their own, the classic line-up disbanded in 2004. But in 2014, after 10 years apart, they will perform together once again.
Versus The World
Versus the World is a punk rock band from Santa Barbara, CA on Kung-Fu Records. The band combines post-hardcore with pop punk. They released their debut album, "Versus the World", in September 2005. Mike Davenport was the long time bassist from The Ataris. Versus The World formed in the back of The Ataris old record store ("Down On Haley"). Prior to being called Versus The World, Mike Davenport and Donald Spence did a few acoustic shows under the band name "Pencapchew" to fill time between their current projects. They have also made a music video for one of their song "Is There No End". They have toured the US and Europe with bands such as No Use For A Name, Suicide Machines, Bouncing Souls, The Lawrence Arms, Social Distortion, I Am The Avalanche, and the Vans Warped Tour. They have a song entitled "Blue and Cold" on the Vans Warped Tour Taste of Christmas compilation. In August 2010, VTW announced their return, lending members from Crooks and Liars (Bryan Charlson-Drums) and Lagwagon (Chris Flippin-Guitar). Their song "Forgive Me" is featured on WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007.
