Tom Petty breekt in 1976 door met zijn rockband Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Al vijf decennia lang verkopen ze tientallen miljoenen platen en scoren ze hits met nummers als ‘I Need To Know’, ‘Into The Great Wide Open’, ‘Refugee’ en ‘Mary Jane’s Last Dance’. Door de pers en hun fans worden ze al jaren lang op handen gedragen om hun legendarische optredens en standvastigheid om geen compromissen te sluiten. Ze worden gezien als één van Amerika’s grootste rockbands en zijn in 2002 bijgezet in The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Volgens rockicoon Tom Petty komt de band vooral live het best tot zijn recht. De bands tour door de VS in 2010 was zeer succesvol en ook voor het langverwachte studioalbum ‘Mojo’, dat in 2010 is verschenen, ontvangen ze lovende kritieken.

Bluesman24 That's a real bargain compairing to other concerts in Germany or Switzerland. I remember the good, old days, when concerts costs 18-20 DM. They cancelled the TP Concert over here, Amsterdam is the substitute date, my ticket was 120 SFr, which is about 110 Euro!
