    What an absolute travesty that James had to play this $hithole (unfortunately, the atrocious Sleigh Bells had The Showbox for the evening). The band was cramped on the tiny stage, the venue was a sauna, and the house sound guy was clearly a fan of guitars, not so much of vocals. Their Showbox appearance back in 2010 is on record as one of the best shows to have ever seen in Seattle! Absolute magic and easily a 400 on a ten scale. This was about a 7 due to the environmental conditions that made a third of the crowd lackluster, and another third exceptionally chatty throughout the entire show. Chatty is pretty standard for a Seattle crowd so I can only assume that 2010's Showbox crowd was imported from elsewhere. The band was clearly affected although still great in delivery. For those about to see a future date on this tour, do check the setlist. This one is not for the fair-weather James fan.
