Anais Mitchell Q&A and Album Preview
*SOLD OUT*
If you missed out on tickets to this event, Anais Mitchell has just announced a full band show on Tuesday 29th May at The Lexington, London. Tickets available from www.wegottickets.com.
Anais Mitchell plays a very special solo acoustic show in the intimate reading room of The Westminster Reference Library, where she will be previewing songs from, and discussing the making of, her brand new album ‘Young Man In America’.
‘Young Man In America’ is the follow-up to her critically beloved folk opera ‘Hadestown’, which received sensational reviews and landed Mitchell on numerous ‘Best of 2010’ lists in both the national and international press.
Switching gears, Mitchell returns here to a more traditional solo record, but those familiar with Hadestown will hear its overtones in Young Man. It’s an epic, sprawling tale with characters leaping from the verses as they would from the pages of a novel.
In keeping with this literary spirit, journalist and author Nick Coleman will interview Anais and invite questions from the audience. Coleman’s upcoming book « The Train in the Night » - an account of his struggle with sudden hearing loss and a personal reflection on how we hear and feel music - will be published on February 2nd by Jonathan Cape.
Please note, there is limited, unreserved seating available on a first come, first served basis.
