Balam Acab

Following on from our sold out December party headlined by ‘How To Dress Well’, Astral People are proud to present ‘Balam Acab’ as our second international guest to enter the Astral Galaxy.

For the first time ever in Australia, Balam Acab aka Alec Koone, will perform as …a duo accompanied by his female vocalist playing tracks from his critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Wander/Wonder’ at Goodgod Small Club on Saturday February 18.

Signed to mega-buzz label Tri-Angle Records, Balam Acab’s debut album “Wander/Wonder” has received rave reviews from the likes of Pitchfork and Resident Advisor. Drawing comparisons to Burial, Balam Acab uses delicate, pitched up vocals and ethereal, echoed melodies combined with deep bass to create a completely enveloping listening experience.
Live, expect spellbinding experimental pop music that pushes boundaries both in terms of songcraft and production. Wander/Wonder is reworked in a live setting, with tracks disassembled and rearranged to create an entirely fresh sound.


Joining Balam Acab will be soul beat master, Guerre, who will be bringing his always epic live show to Good God.
Also performing will be Thomas William, formally known as Cleptoclectics, Thomas will be showcasing tracks from his new album ‘Deccan Technicolour’ out now through ‘This Thing’. Drenched in Layers of textures, broken percussion and experimental sounds, make sure you check out one of Australia’s most unique electronic figures.

The night will also feature DJ sets from Stones Throw’s only Australian signing Jonti, Preacha, Wedding Ring Fingers and Generic DJ’s.
