MORNING PARADE

Hailing from deepest Essex, childhood friends Steve Sparrow, Chad Thomas, Phil Titus, Ben Giddings and Andy Hayes craft dramatic, heart-on-the-sleeve anthems. Fusing electronics with guitar parts and keys with self-assured emotion, Morning Parade make unapologetically epic songs to soundtrack first kisses and last goodbyes.

It wasn’t long before the band were noticed. After being picked up by Wildlife Management (Arctic Monkeys) they signed with Parlophone and were quietly left to grow into the band they could be. They recorded their debut album with producer Jason Cox at Damon Albarn’s 13 Studios, and this September the world will be able to hear the fruits of their labours in the form of the trance-inducing ‘Under The Stars’, the tear jerking ‘Headlights’ and the grand, expansive ‘Speechless’.

THE SCHOLARS

Formed through friends of friends and old school ties, ‘The Scholars’ was only ever intended to be a temporary, throwaway name for something much bigger than it turned into. It now seems somehow appropriate as The Scholars grew into young men huddling around laptops with an obsessive attitude towards reaching perfection; from the attention to detail in delivering consistently live to meticulously crafting songs that stick their claws into you from the first listen, shrouded in post-punk gloom with a New Romantic glisten. They are fighting constantly to prove why they deserve to sit on top of the pile in a genre that has become saturated and convoluted with identical bands with identical haircuts.

« They really came through on the day. The voice and the musicianship: It’s all there. There’s a lot of stuff to come from these guys. » - BBC Introducing, Radio 1

« …most likely to take their boat beyond the Cherwell playing accomplished indie-rock hanging out with The Killers in 1980s Salford, but done with enough thoughtful swagger to pull it off. » - The Fly
