Eminem
A 13-time Grammy and Oscar winner, the rapper and producer was recently dubbed the King of Hip Hop by Rolling Stone magazine. Eminem, born Marshall Mathers III, has sold according to figures by US chart tracker Billboard, 33 million song downloads and 40 million albums.
Globally, Eminem has sold over 80 million albums.
In Australia, Eminem’s multi-platinum albums Recovery, Encore and The Eminem Show, and hit singles Without Me, Lose Yourself and Love The Way You Lie, are ranked on a biggest-ever sellers list in annual charts compiled by the Australian Recording Industry Association.
ARIA has certified The Marshall Mathers LP (2000) for sales of 4 x platinum, The Eminem Show (2002) 8 x platinum, Encore (2004) 4 x platinum, and Recovery (2010) 3 x platinum.
For his Sydney and Melbourne shows, Eminem’s special guests are multi-platinum hip hop players.
Lil’ Wayne, with his twisted inflections and detached rhymes, won a Best Rap Album Grammy for his 2008 opus, Tha Carter III, and hit single Lollipop.
ARIA Award winning rappers Hilltop Hoods are a popular draw card live whose albums The Hard Road and State Of The Art debuted at No.1.
