JAPANESE VOYUERS

In this world there are two kinds of bands: there are those who aim to be the biggest group in the world, who aim to make money and be famous, and who will do anything to achieve their aim. And then there are those whose mission statement is to explore the possibilities of modern music, of heavy music, and whose instinct is to create something that they themselves yearn to hear. Since forming in 2007 the London-based quintet Japanese Voyeurs have shown themselves to be the second of these kinds of bands.

They have recently enlisted the services of legendary Canadian producer GGGarth Richardson – who has lent his shoulder to albums as acclaimed as Rage Against The Machine’s debut, as well as albums with The Melvins and Jesus Lizard – this year Japanese Voyeurs travelled to Vancouver to record their debut album ‘Yolk’.

« Yolk is a fantastic debut album, providing something just that much more interesting to the music scene » – Sputnik Music

DUD

Dud are a French band hailing from Aix-en-Provence near Marseille. Formed at the end of the last century, they mix an array of different influences from PJ Harvey and The Black Keys through to Nirvana, Noir désir and Bérurier Noir. The result is a punk-blues-approximative rock, sung in English as well as French. After a string of DIY releases they released their debut album proper ‘Bling Bling Bang’ at the tail end of last year.

GUNDOGS

Gundogs came together two and a half years ago by a mutual love for the fierce individuality of acts like Prince, Pixies and Madonna, the unbridled savagery of the Pistols and The Clash, the chaotic introspection of Sonic Youth and Nirvana and the sheer primitive eroticism of Bowie, Nine Inch Nails and Patti Smith…

Support slots and tours with the likes of The Kooks, Sex Pistols, Neds Atomic Dustbin, The Twang, The Wildhearts, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, The Vaccines…amongst others! Have helped the band create an overall performance that is intense and has the unique ability to leave you feeling oh so good, if not a little dirty.

« There’s something very special happening here, sublime, incendiary and essential » - XFM London

« It’s easy to see the appeal with a band as talented as gundogs » - Kerrang! Magazine

« Gundogs could well be the new Nirvana mixed with a hint of Blondie and the attitude of the Sex Pistols » - Emma Scott

BLACK HEART GENERATOR DJS

Crawling like a one legged misanthrope from the glade of curmudgeonly union, otherwise known as Kings Heath, a three headed beast now designated the moniker Black Heart Generator first reared its collective cranium in mid 2009. Black Heart Generator play an agressive brand of noisy grungish punkish alternative music, with dangerous hints of melody, and the odd hint of Motown.
