Portishead will perform a single New Zealand show in Auckland in November
The British trip-hop act will perform with Mercury Rev at Vector Arena on November 10.
The show, the band’s first since a 1998 concert at Auckland’s North Shore Events Centre, comes on the back of the band’s headlining slot at the Harvest Festival in Australia.
Led by ghostly singer Beth Gibbons, Portishead led the late-90s UK trip-hop movement alongside Tricky and Massive Attack thanks to 1994’s Dummy and 1997’s Portishead.
The trio regrouped in 2008 and released their critically acclaimed third album, Third.
Mercury Rev were last here supporting Coldplay in the same venue in 2009.
