I went, I saw, I listened, I left before the finale. I guess that could sum it up. I had really high expectations of this gig (perhaps therein lies my downfall) but I came away deflated.
Do not get me wrong.... the Kings of Leon definitely know their stuff & I still love their music but their show really lacked something.... like interaction with the audience?? Caleb said, numerous times, "it's been a beautiful day".... the audience were all looking at each other and wondering where he'd been all day! It poured with rain for a large part of the day and the clouds finally rolled away to give us a brief bit of sunshine before it finally set for the day. I know that Caleb had a sore throat (he asked us to sing along because, in his words "I sound like a frog") and at least two others (Nathan being one I think) were reportedly suffering from the flu. For that, miles away from home with a crowd of 65,000 to perform to, I felt sorry for them. …
