Sun 24 Jan – Casiotone for the Painfully Alone
I get ever so frustrated with the lack of turnout for such great shows. Dark Sea of Awareness is always a treat to see play. Last night unfortunately I was tied up and didn't make it downtown until half way through Emily Reo's set. It was amazing as usual. Her Legrand voice and stage presence always make me feel like a leaf in the fall up north. Casiotone used Backbooth's soundsystem to his advantage and played to the crowd. It turned out to be a fairly intimate show, but the height of the stage of Backbooth always throws me off. It depends on the band playing if it works or not. It usually just leaves me feeling like I got to the movie theatre late and had to sit in the front row.
Either way, Emily Reo, Dark Sea, and Casiotone proved to be a show I was glad I motivated myself to leave my comfy bed for.
