Five bands is a lot of bands to sit through when 1. you never heard any of their albums. 2. they're all playing the same generic stuff, and 3. they all keep running into technical difficulties. Luckily, me and my friend had chairs.
The night, something like an endurance test for the headliner Emarosa, started with a little band called Broadway, which, hey, I thought were some local band who showed up dressed like they were going to band practice. They set the tone for the night: generic sing/scream vocals, breakdowns for the xtuffx kids to dance to, and then right in the middle of a song, a microphone gives out, causing the band to stop mid-song. We then wait 5-10 minutes to get it fixed, amidst the band apologizing their asses off, and then resume playing the rest of their generic sing/scream set. They're a band that's still wet behind the ears, and maybe they'll develop some type of identity as they (hopefully) progress. …
